I must say I notice little to no improvement in FPS though. Perhaps a little bit when staring down into the instrument panel. This used to be quite laggy, not so much any more. Seems like micro stutters appear when closing in on a new 3D model LOD. Like when the game has to load 5 more detailed hurricanes as you approach them, I get microstutters.

Pretty much exactly sums up my experience with the patch as well, although I would probably not use the word "micro" for the stutters I see, especially over land ... they can be pretty bad on my computer. I think the xfire and multi core patches are what will make the game really improve on my machine (hopefully).

Still thoroughly enjoying fights over the channel while i wait though!

i7 950 @ 3.66Ghz
6 Gig RAM @ 1600
ATI 5970
Win 7 64 bit
