When does it freeze, when you run the game? Or when you load a mission?
Do you remember what have you changed in game settings (may be the cause of these freezes)? Right-click on the Options.exe in the game folder and choose 'Run as Administrator' to make sure it will save the settings. Choose whatever settings you want there (better uncheck EAX since you have built-in sound chip), make sure you choose the right screen resolution. Uncheck high sky detail. After that save the changes. Another thought - go to the nVidia control panel and force V-Sync for Korea.exe. |

I did try to run "Steam" in admin mode, and also run the game as admin. The resolution settings are correct. There was one time I was able to play a battle for about 20 seconds before it froze up. All settings were maxed out, and it was silky smooth. Since that time I did not make any other adustments. I'll try to disable "EAX" and lower the "sky detail" and force "Vsync" when I get home from work, and post back. Thank you sir. Last edited by czingerx; 04-08-2011 at 04:05 AM. |

Well, I tried what you said as stated above. I still have the exact same thing happening still.
I included a screenshot of my task manager, after it freezes. Also the game log, as I heard is sometimes usefull. I hope maybe it will give some kind of indication of what it may be. http://img16.imageshack.us/i/taskmanagerh.png/ Last edited by czingerx; 04-08-2011 at 07:36 AM. |

When the game freezed during mission, did the audio keep playing?
Right click on the Korea icon in the games list in Steam client and select "Properties". In the General tab click Launch Options. Type \AFFINITY 0X3 into the box and click OK. Close the properties box and launch the game. This command will set CPU affinity for this game to core0 and core1 upon launch. |

I tried the \AFFINITY 0X3 and still hit the roadblock. Same thing. Last edited by czingerx; 04-14-2011 at 07:18 AM. |

Hmm, something with video driver maybe.
Did you turn Sandy Bridge graphics off in BIOS or your PC alternates between it and 550 Ti depending on load? Try to turn it off. Set up a profile for the game in nVidia control panel. Force VSync on, turn AA off, set max prerendered frames to lowest setting (0 i think). Change \AFFINITY 0X3 in Steam to \AFFINITY 0X1 to run the game on only one core, maybe this would help. Dunno why it freezes in menu, there is basically nothing active there - no large textures loaded, no heavy CPU load, nothing. |
