From my understanding the filter is there until they fix the epilepsy problem. Once they have fixed the flashing stuff then the filter will be removed. Well I hope this is the case as I do not see them keeping this terrible system in place for the life of the game.

Luthier: Anti-epilepsy will once and forever banished from the Russian version of the game . This adds up to 10 fps on older machines. It seems like there's a major memory handling issue in the game itself right now judging by the "hitching" I see on a lot of the videos. It's pretty typical in games that need to dynamically load objects/textures from the hard drive.
Obviously a lot of good systems out there running modest settings are still having this issue, and Ilya mentioned a major patch in the next week or two so I'll bet this will be high on the list. Meantime, I think it will be quite playable while we wait with some restrictions on certain graphic option combinations and/or staying away from cities. Hopefully they get a good chunk done before the Euro release for the sake of reviews. |
