maybe they had to tune down the sounds as they might trigger a symptom on some people with some kind of a sensitivity towards sudden bangs they hear

Very true, didn't think of that, a machine gun firing in your headphone could cause you to jump, hit your head, fall to the ground catching a glimpse of the overhead light bulb in the process thus inducing an epileptic seizure.
