Remember, in 4.10 there is the ability to have the AIs flying in the mission, so you can have Kates dropping torpedos.
Of course they are aiming at KG V class BBs and not the WW 1 era post dreadnoughts that the USN had stationed at Pearl Harbor. But that is only one mission.
