You can set conf.ini to Read Only to avoid this problem. Just don't forget that you did it!

After some time ignoring IL2,I decided to try again to make it run in 32 colors without bugging out.
And after some "hack" (for a computer noob like me,its almost a hack) I finally tamed it.
On the program compatibility options,I checked the Disable desktop composition and,OMG,it works!

Now,I´m still trying to define the graphics at maximum settings.
