Does reflection of light by canopy need DX11?

Don't know, how Oleg setup BoB but it should mean that you can see the plane from a much larger distance ... as a small flickering light, not as a dark spot as in il2.

Now we do not know what the Sim will contain or not, but only from the graphics engine, does the effect need DX11, DX10, or DX9?
