I had a quick try at Defender of the Crown on Impossible, and I am pleased to say that I was defeated in the 2nd fight. Looks like this will provide some challenge due to the random element.

i didnt have any problems with def on hard difficulty... or was it because i used cheats to get money?

also its not completely random. In the first island you only encounter lizards and for example shops cannot have any demons, undead or lizards.

I have huge problems on champion of the arena when i get to the drilller, gremlio and the last archdevil though even when i use crystal and money cheats.

rancor, cheats? C'mon, play the game properly. I'm glad I lost that first game on Impossible - I would have been really disappointed if I could just breeze straight through it. But I'll get there.

I just like to play this game with infinite money it's more relaxing i've played to somewhere like level 25 on orcs on the march without cheats but i just can't find it that enjoyable when you cant for example get your whole leadership in use because you're out of money. Well we all have our own styles of playing and i like to play this game with money and crystal cheats. I never use any other cheats though (unless i want to test something).

Wow, that's never happened to me, on any difficulty. I guess you buy lots of different creatures and discard them once new ones come along?

No, but i like to buy items too and if i buy only creatures then i cant buy items much and vice versa.

I guess it's okay to use cheats when you're just learning the game, but ultimately the challenge is in beating the game within its limitations. For instance, I am finding Defender of the Crown to be a reasonable challenge on Hard at the moment. Do I buy the more expensive units or the expensive items? Can't have both.
