They don't say I5 is better. They say that it is cheaper for roughly the same performance on "todays" games. Big difference...
Of course, I just built an I7-860 @ 3.6.
You could have built a hi end AMD Phenom II Quad or hex core for less and have better performance. And used the money you saved to put towards a better video card.
