It's probably bad form to drag up an old thread, but googling brought me here:
A question about limiting aircraft numbers in Server Commander..... If I set: Quote:
If (a), potentially players may get kicked if they are flying a Spitfire, when the number remaining allowed gets to zero. Is that right? Last edited by _RAAF_Stupot; 05-25-2010 at 07:58 AM. Reason: Edited for clarity |

I hope this helps you. [PlanesArmy1] La-5FN=10 [PlanesArmy2] Bf-109E-4=100 Description: [PlanesArmy1]-red army [PlanesArmy2]-blue army La-5FN=10-its only 10 La-5FN allowed for red team, other planes have no limits in use. (so you can add any other planes like in this example) By using <planes command you can check ppanes which have limitations set on them, if theres any settings about it in *.ini file of map file. (to work with limitations you must mark a checkbox in the IL2SC settings) You also can set restrictions on for any armament of airplanes Format: [PlanesArmy2] Bf-109G-6=100,U3-MK108;R5-MK108;U3R6-MG151-20 spaced from planes number by «,» symbol, spaced from each other by «;» symbol in this example you can see, that for plane limit of 100 planes type Bf-109G6, you can not carry on these planes U3-MK108;R5-MK108;U3R6-MG151-20 gun installations available armament list you can check in yours eventlog file "Planes Count" parameter is not nessesary one, but it can be set like this: [PlanesArmy2] Bf-109G-6=U3-MK108;R5-MK108;U3R6-MG151-20 Last edited by KG26_Alpha; 05-25-2010 at 09:10 AM. |

On a map that has each side with say four different aircraft available from the home base if you have limited the La's to 10 aircraft but the red side may have 100 P40E's available, then does that mean:
A. Once red team lose the 10 La's = mission over B. Once the 10 La's have been depleted then the red side can then only select the remaining P40's?

My question is more to do with how the planelimit is implemented. I'm sorry Alpha, but you didn't really answer my question..... ![]() I'll try asking it another way: If I have: SpitfireMkV=10 Can 20 pilots actually select a Spitfire at the beginning of the match, and then if half of them are shot down, the Spitfire is no longer available for respawning pilots? OR Can only up to 10 pilots select a Spitfire at the beginning of the match? |

You have 20 planes that's 20 available to fly till they start getting shot down, and 10 pilots, so one pilot might trash 10 planes so long as he survives before killing all available pilots which is 10. Or the 20 Aircraft are all lost. You need usually more planes than pilots or the same amount. Using IL2SC interface you can set Aircraft 20 Pilots 10 something like this which cover the teams not individual ac. Or In the .ini file something like this which also covers the teams not individual ac. Then set individual ac limits in the [PlanesArmy1/2] Last edited by KG26_Alpha; 05-26-2010 at 03:33 PM. |

Thanks Alpha we kind of understood what you have just said, but we weren't exactly sure how the it worked when pilots get kicked. We did some testing sessions on our server, and this is what we discovered:
1) The plane limit for a type refers to the number of planes of that type that can fly simultaneously; (So if limit = 6, only 6 planes of that type can fly together at the start). 2) This limit reduces as planes of the type are destroyed; (So if 2 planes are destroyed, from that time onwards, only 4 planes of that type can fly together). 3) If a pilot selects a type which is already 'fully taken', all of the pilots still on the ground will get a kick warning, and one will of them be eventually kicked - not necessarily the last pilot who spawned; (So if a 5th pilot then spawns in that type of plane, any one of the pilots still on the ground will get kicked). 4) A pilot who is being warned will get kicked almost immediately if he takes off. It will take longer if he stays on the ground. 5) Pilots will not get kicked for no apparent reason, if they understand points (1) (2) & (3). This is the ini file for a map that we are using for an upcoming match. A-20's and 110's are limited to 6 each. Quote:

Ok
Didn't realize you had a kick issue/feature. Yes depending on the pilots available too, have you tested to see if limiting the pilot numbers changes anything. I'm trying to exactly remember some of the settings I used to use but since I've been working on a new server for the last few months. There's a new FBDj 2 coming out which will suport v409m and the mod pack aircraft better. http://www.greatergreen.com/forum/index.php?board=2.0 IL2SC future development has been abandoned ![]() |
