The only thing I would do with that mission is increase the ammo of the infantry. Seriously, I barely had enough to clear the first trench.

It many times helps when you give your infantry as well German weapons and just pick up their ammunition on the go. Not a unusual tactic anyway. Saw lots of pictures with Soviet infantry using MP40s and Mauser rifles in battle. Probably got them from some unlucky German before ...
