To increase your chances of getting the spells you want , be sure to use your pet dragon to get all 3 chests in all battles if you can. I got many good scrolls, and also many runes out of them Like metathron said, you can't be sure to find it somewhere in any given game, so that's an extra reason to try your chances in the chests.

Now i've got the Eviln-Spell.
After i've found it for the first time, two other merchants also sold it (i didn't visit these locations before).
