With the addition of military equipment, strengthened wing spars, fitment of aileron mass balances, the Tiger Moth was reluctant to recover from spin due to the rearward CG position.

As Andy correctly mentionned, those 'Anti-Spin' aluminium Strakes, extending the leading edge of the tail plane, were part of the Mod 112 .
