Watch out for Me-163 Komets..... the B-17 has little chance of survival as this is a specialised B-17 killer.
The same goes for the Bf-109 G-6, Bf-109 K4 and Bf-110 C-4..... all specifically adept at bomber killing. The Bf-109 K-4 has frontal armour just for this purpose. Best method for killing B-17s...... climb above, wing over and drop down from above where they can't shoot back and aim at the wings.
