UK players: we had air superiority for all missions, this was supposed to be a walk in the park. However, the lack of participation will be our defeat. I already mentioned that I was not going to be able to play or check this forum as much as I have in the past. I had not been online for 4 days and that is why I could not participate, but for the rest of you that log in to PSN regularly, why are you not playing? If you guys prefer to play a different game is ok, but please let me know so I can cancel this tournament.

*** I will update the information I have and post it. Everything continues as scheduled. The team that performed the best on any given mission will win that mission.

Yes, I know. I feel that this tournament wont work unless I participate. I can no longer be after you guys so you will play. Take for instance, the Ace of Aces Tournament. That tournament has not ended yet :S.

Sorry USSR guys, if you like you can re-organize teams and edit the rules a little to make them more simple for all to follow. I believe the rules are not the problem, though, because many did not even read them.

* This tournament can work only if the participants want it to work but the truth is that many dont care or cant play.

Please do me a favor and let me know, at least, if you wont participate anymore so I dont have to be spending my time in vain. Also, so USSR guys and others that do want to continue this can make decisions about the future of this tournament.
(Is there anyone who can take on the responsibility to manage this tournament? Having a leader on both teams is helpful to keep a team participating and informed.)

- copy my rules, you guys dont need all the visuals that I had to make this tournament enjoyable. (this does not mean that I am leaving the tournament. As I said before, if you guys keep playing I will keep it running, but if I keep getting the few results that I got today, then I would prefer to cancel it, someone else can pick this tournament on and start from scratch using my rules or what ever we already have)

* Sorry, I just went over the results. Since I saw, about 10 new messages with attachments I did not remember that that really meant 5 matches only (2 screenshots per game). Worst, 2 screenshots were repeats, so there was really a total of 4 matches played.

* I am posting now to announce that "Battle for Europe" is cancelled.
* If you guys wish to save this tournament please feel free to copy the rules and the participants that have played, and start a new thread. (I will be eliminating all photobucket images so please hurry.)

I know you were a loyal supporter my friend. You guys can pick new teams and start again, hopefully, you are more lucky then me. If I wait, I will only be waiting for a USSR victory due to a forfeit.

This week results:
Air Superiority: USSR won (13 deaths) UK (24 deaths) 3 matches played
Strategic Bombing: 1 match only (12 targets destroyed)
Territory Capture: zero matches???
Why continue? I am not mad about this, I just feel that this is pointless now.

* Decision is Final, I am sorry. To wait 1 day, or to wait 1 week, this wont make a difference. The solution is to start from scratch with new teams but I leave that decision to you guys now.

You clearly dont understand what it takes to organize this and manage it. From a participant's perspective it is simple because all you need to do is play (this is why I was a little disappointed). However, it is difficult when you depend on others to be able to do what you have to. I have no more time for promises (undestand that I have dealt with them since the First Tournament that I created "Ace of Aces").

* Since the very beginning I asked for commitment. I knew this tournament would mean work for me, but I was willing to do this anyway, all I asked for was participation. No participation from you guys = no commitment from me. Why bother doing all this work for 4 matches? You all knew what to do. The first week had better results because I was constantly posting and contacting players to participate. I cant do this anymore, sorry.

* I recommend that you continue this tournament with new teams, and maybe you will see what I mean. I hope that you get better results if you do this by the way.

I am very sorry it had to come to this, and I share your disappointment. You have put a huge effort into this tournament, and the idea behind it is still brilliant. Once again a big thanks to you.

It's very generous of you to even hand out prices, of course I'd love to have a P-47 but cannot access the store in Malta.

On a more happy note, I have spoken to the publishers about the sponsoring of a future tournament, and they said yes. They obviously have realized the momentum your tournaments have created for their product.

There is a future for tournaments here on IL-2 Birds of Prey, and I hope we can work together to create another one some time.
