As silly as this may sound.... im going to guess its a B17.

The wreck looks a mess and very compact, so it could be mistaken for a twin engined plane, but "some" parts look very much like a B17, most notably the tail fin and a little of the fuselage from the tail fin, forward.

Its 4:30am though, and im tired so thats just a random guess really. Will have a proper look tomorrow afternoon
