It had a very ruff start, but the Dev team stuck with it and fixed every issue and added a ton of features that the community asked for. It lost a lot of players but in my opinion once they were done fixing it,,, it was one of the best Battlefield style games to ever hit console. 50 players/ every vehicle you could imagine and drones to boot, zero lag, and proximity chat , I mean you name it they put it in there. Its a shame that there won't be a FFOW II because they had just about everything ironed out and the sequel could have been one of the best MP games to ever come to console.
I know my hat will always come off to the FFOW's Dev team, they were some the best and it was a honor to work with them and see how they took care of their community despite publisher pressure.
FFOW is one of my favourite games ever bar none!! I would love to know any interesting anecdotes you could share about its development. I too really wish there was a sequel (though it's theoretically possible that the upcoming Homefront is set in the same universe).
