There is no calibration of input in the X360 at all. They depend on the deadzone to counter for any offset in the input signal.
I think it is wasted time to wait for MS to fix this. It should be fairly easy to make a small HW mod yourself.
I will gladly give hints and advice if you post some sharp images of the inside of the throttle.
