Serious system hangs in the menus

I run the game off the DVD as usual.

1) In some of the menus, and during loading and saving there are temporarly hangs, and the music skips (as a dirty CD would do), but it recovers after some seconds.
2) In the save-menu after landing in the first realistic tutorial I get a permanent system hang (music skipping). Left it on for a while but it still hangs and must be booted. The DVD seems perfect and clean.

XBOX or PS3? If you're on XBOX, you can install the game by pressing Y when you have it selected in the My XBOX menu (i.e. one up after booting, the big game image you see to start it up, next to your profile thingy). I believe it should say install to hard drive or something. But, it's been a while since I've installed anything, correct me if I'm wrong.
