Well thats not exactly true, I'm sure many people have. I just earlier today managed to do it on realistic; but with limited fuel only. Its not possible to do it with limited ammo.

Basically go towards the first group and when the second group arrive tell your wingmen to attack mission critical targets, and whatever they do not go for you do. Usually two will break off to attack one pair while the other goes alone.
In regards to attacking, go straight for them at the same alt and fire, as soon as you go past go straight up and reduce throttle to 20%, wait for critical speed warning and then push the nose down, at this point you should be between 60-110 k/m above, gives you plenty of time to strafe both bombers before hitting their alt again. If you dont, sweep up again.
When firing only let off 2/3 rounds at a time, the amount of kick-back from the planes guns shake it to much, only firing this many gives it time to return to its original firing position. This way if you aim at their engines it will take only 1/2 bursts to bring one down.

Now, I'm having REAL trouble on 'The Babysitter' mission

Dude I believe that mission is just a matter of luck.
I tried once in sim mode, as soon as the bf-109 came the battle was so messy I couldn't get a single kill!!

And after a while I got misson completed anyway (and a high score too )

That mission is tough to figure out. I did the campaign on sim so I thought I would take it easy on the missions and do them in realistic. You need to go to them in a particular order and destroy them fast. You also need to command your other planes to attack as well (this helps A LOT!!). Also, I had WEP on like the entire mission... even while shooting the enemy.

Yeah, that mission is easy - don't worry about killing anyone, just keep the "baby" in view at all times and fire bursts at anyone moving into position.

Thats a simple solution, after killing the first group tell your wingmen to attack mission critical targets using d-pad down then d-pad right; then whatever targets they dont attack you go for. Let them work by themselves, just focus on downing your targets as fast as possible.
First time I tried that tactic it worked and complete the mission!

I don't have the Spitfire XVI yet, and I don'teally plan on using it, but how does it handle now?

The wings were clipped solely to enable a better roll rate at low altitudes. This was first done on Mk.V's after the quick rolling Fw-190 appeared in late 1941, but it was eventually done to many Spitfires.

By all means, the higher wing loading of the Spitfire XVI (with only 231 sq ft. of wing area and a similar weight and thrust to the Mk.IX which has 242 sq ft. of wing area) should make it more unstable, faster rolling, but wider turning than the Spitfire IX. Is this evident in the game?
