the bf 110 was able to carry 4 250 kg bombs or 4 210mm Wrf Gr rockets.
it was desinged as a long range escort and was also used for ground support, not dogfighting. the fw-187 may have been an intended replacement but the luftwaffe stuck with the 110, so the 3 prototype187s were used in focke-wulf's private air force defending factories and scored 7 kills ( i got all this info from a book called "the illustrated directory of fighting aircraft of WW2 )
