Thanks all ! I actually have both the older and the newer Xbox 360 headsets so i'll be able to connect the newer in-line volume model with the Saitek AV8R-02.

My next question is, does everyones Saitek AV8R-02 flight stick have the spring around the joystick visible just below where you grip it ? It sure makes the flight stick look even more cheap in my opinion, and seems they would've used a rubber sleeve or something to cover it. I never noticed it in the screenshots i looked at but mine has it and i wondered if maybe its an older one or not.

I figured as such. I think i'm going to return mine since its still unopened and the patch is a ways off. Thanks to all who replied and i now have monoprice in my favorites.
