Thanks Blacksix, hehe, the I-16 has got to be the most ugliest aircraft that ever flew IMO,agreed?.......how that shape ever got airborne, let alone became a fighter aircraft is beyond me,the lines on it are awful,it ain't no beauty!

It's an engine with wings, reduce to the max, pretty cool concept for 1934.
You also might want to check out the "ugly planes" thread, considering aesthetics...

Just noticed this when Krupi posted it in the update thread, but are those cocking handle extensions I see coming off the cowling guns? I wonder if that means jamming might be modeled (and thus also the ability to un-jam using those handles). Either way, does any one know why the had them? (if that's what they are) Were they particularly prone to jamming then?

Wow those I-16 videos are great! The engine sound is very cool. Reminds me of Subulba's pod racer in Star Wars Ep. I I wonder if we will get the Starwars laser guns as well haha.

The I-16 always reminded me of 1920s and 30s air racing planes, like something out of the Rocketteer.

I-16 is a beautiful plane, there's one in a foundation ( Infante de Orleans) which sometimes fly in Madrid

It is from the Spanish Civil War ( 1936 - 1939)
