Thanks guys - the game was running OK in terms of how it was set before your recommendations but it did Stutter. I'll try these tips and report back.

How would I know if tesselation is working/implemented or not - did the devs say?

Buildings to unlimited seems counterintuitive?

Tessellation is a DirectX 11 feature and CloD runs in 10.

Buildings to Unlimited will load buildings further away from you so they don't pop up around you...if u understand what I mean. Minor effect on frames.

Building details however is another thing which will give better frames to no real quality loss.

If you want to get a big chunk of frames then I suggest turning down Land shading from High to Medium. The quality loss is there but not so apparent and is a good tradeoff if frames are low.

Btw keep us updated. Many in here have been tweaking this game and our machines since 31 march.

You know, there's a track called The Black Death that we kinda use as a benchmark thingy. If u run it from start to finish and tell us your min/avg/max we can tell you if your system is performing as expected.

Just remembered. The mirror is defuncked so you can turn it off and gain 5-10 more frames (hit M).

How do i bring up the FPS counter and where do i find the Black Death track?

Don't know if it's default but I got my console mapped to "z".
If it doesn't work for you then check key assignment for Console something.
When you activate the console you will see white overlayed text to the left on the screen. The game (if offline) will pause.
In the console type "fps START SHOW" without the quotes.
To remove the counter and reset it, open console and type "fps STOP HIDE" without the quotes.

You'll find the Black Death track by clicking EXTRA > TRACKS (in the game menu) and then select it and load. Writing from memory so hope it's correct.

i heard a rumor today from a buddy at another sim site that there are issues with ATI graphics and that disabling the Epilepsy splash screen works well to optimize frames.

Quote:
if you use an ati card, a tip is to delete the ubisoft splash screen logo thats within the games root folder. Apparently it underclocks your card and the game may be percieved as a desktop application as opposed to something else. thats the theory atleast for underperforming ati based graphics.
is there any truth to this?
