Default Some experiences trying the patch & hotfix last night

So a few thoughts:

- London FPS test, all settings more or less maxed out except buildings on medium @ 1920 x 1200: Smoother than before! Getting about 30-35 fps flying low level with no stutters. Haven't had much problems before either.

- Full screen works nicely for me

- AI pilots on some still wacos especially on larger planes, not sure if that was tweaked much though with this release

- Tried MP on a german server: worked ok with no fps or stutter issues. Had some hickups / stuttering on sounds though that popped in and out every 5 mins or so. Haven't cleared any caches or done any other tricks are posted..

- Hung once after joining MP server when selecting the army (chose a plane first, not sure if there's a connection). Had to cold start my pc.

- The briefing & plane customization screens finally before a mission are a godsend! Missed a zoom on the map though, is there one?

So overall a good release for me so thanks a lot for your efforts!

Tell me what would be a good MP server for a european? I'm getting 250-350 pings to Syndicate and the rest in Europe (with 6-7 players) had ppl just speaking german on them. Would love to find a way to join MP, hook up TS or something with a few random pilots to fly a formation without being a part of a clan or whatever.

Is that doable?

ok!my summary of the hotfix patch and enableing cloud snyc in steam!

i dont know what exactly happened, but i wanted to be sure to have a vanilla version,so i deleted the game, and reinstalled it.
although i didnt change much in the gamefiles, except the conf.ini file, where i set processaffinitymask to 3 instead of my default 2.and i put my joysticksettings from my old il21946 conf.ini file into the new one from cliffs of dover.but thats it.i didnt change anything else.
now after reinstalling the game, there is no processafinitymask anymore in my conf.ini file.
i only put in my joysettings from il2,but didnt touch anything else.

but somehow now the damage model and the plane models look far more detailed then it looked before.at least thats my impression after an hour of gaming now.that really impressed me.
also the buildings seem to have more detailis.and everything with keeping the same settings as i had before deleting the game.

the only downside is that i have pretty bad stutters.some more than 5seconds(screen totally freezes)!they are even worse than the first version of the game!london is unplayable for me again.though the fps are pretty the same now as with the beta version(maybe a bit less).but they jump up and down when im above a city or near some buildings, even if its only a small village.the problem with the fps drop and freezes only occurs if i change my view.i have trackir and if i look right or left, the the screen freezes and fps drop dramatically.if i hold my view steady, then the game seems to have a steady performance.

but two things i really like:
the new prop visuals!
and the handling with the prop pitch!its much more accurate and more workload now which i like!!

The map zoom is scroll bar on left or mouse wheel.

I really feel for the guys having problems running this game. I count myself incredibly lucky that I find it just gets better with each update. The last hotfix has given me smooth, steady game play with no nasty graphical anomalties and glitches apart from a little flickering flying through white cloud and very slight tree shadow flickering. Fps are a bit low and patchy over London, especially attacking bombers but then I don't have a top end system. I have everything at maximum except for SSAO on and mirrors off and probably average 30 to 40 fps.
Everyone is running the same code yet some have endless problems whilst others just don't seem to. It seems the difference must lie somewhere in the configuration of the different systems and or the hardware used. I am not saying the problems are the fault of the people who are struggling as a PC game should run on any PC given its specs are high enough. I am sure the developers are doing this but I think it is important to correlate problems encountered with system specs and setups to try and find common causes and effects. Just to say the game is crap is pointless because in a lot of cases it obviously isn't.
I really hope they can get these issues nailed soon so they can move onto other stuff like replacing placeholders etc. etc.

I'm running the game on a baseline 21.5 inch 2011 iMac in Windows 7 and I rarely have any issues. I mostly get hiccups when flak is present. I can fly all day over London on medium settings and it is absolutely gorgeous. Then I read about people with much higher specs that have problems over the channel. Makes no sense.

I'm glad you posted that about the map zoom, it was driving me crazy.

I am in your boat, every patch better than the last. However I must have less faith in humanity, since I am pretty sure that a heck of a lot of the whining on these forums are cases of PEBKAC.

Hi,

this hotfix is for me a step backward. I have to disable clouds and shadows, it worked well with the beta patch. Now i have to lower some texture /environment details too. More stutters than previous patch, sometimes crashes. Game is a new installation.

These are my first tests with the new patch. Propellor is fine, had an engine hit and engine stoped working in the Spit. Really beautiful this new animation.

Im the same it gets better with each full patch, I have had some set backs with some of the betas, I tend to agree with a your last comment as well, just the config.ini thing will be causing a lot of problems, the new ini files are a lot different to the old, so anyone that has turned cloud save off will be stuck with an old incompatible file, I had some issues with crashing with this patch, until I followed Luthiers advice and downloaded the proper file, it was a pain because I had to redo my settings, but I havent had any issues since doing this.

Just wondering, if all the people with sound problems are running seperate cards or onboard sound, must be some reason that many have this issue while the rest dont.
