That happens in IL2 1946 too.

Those Hurricanes are tough aren't they LOL. I guess UBISOFT shouldn't have been so pushy. I'm sure things will work out though in future patches.

Reminds me of the RoF Handley Page O-400 bug...

Actually, on one note, given that the wing-root is the area of the wings that provide the most lifting force during flight, it may indeed be possible if his speed is high enough. In a real life situation, creating a symmetric wing-loss is not possible so the plane would spiral, but in the sim, this may indeed be an "accurate" representation of aerodynamics. However it's hard to say since I cannot make out speed. Ailerons seem to be disabled, he's getting roll from using rudder.

I have had similar things happen to me in IL-2 and LockOn flying the Su-25T (the one with the best FM).

EDIT:

Another EXTREMELY interesting find in the hurrpedo video is that if you fullscreen it and watch the remaining flaps, you can see them "flutter" in the wind. Probably because the mechanizm is damaged and they're just flopping around. Very interesting!

Okay, come on get your head out of the ground... that aircraft would not be flying around with that much wing area missing....

I know there has been cases in RL of aircraft with massive damage and still landing but not THAT much and the cases that have survived the aircraft have had to really on a great speed to keep aloft.

I'm educated in aerodynamics and I'm just saying that the mathematics and formulas would add up, given sufficient airspeed. I think I stated that. I disagree with you. Could you land it? No, could you manouver it? No. The speed required to keep that thing flying is not going to be produced by the engine. If, however, he recovered from a steep dive, then yes, it should theoretically be possible. Most pilots would have ditched it in the blink of an eye.

What I can agree to is that there's no way he could steer it like he does in the video. I think the amount of lift produced is a little too much compared to his airspeed.
