Yeah, this bothered me, too. I liked in IL-2 just flying around and landing anywhere there was enough room. It also made it more fun after a mission where you're all shot up, being able to lose the landing gear, have the propellor break off, and come sliding to a stop next to the runway, but still survive. In a game where they seem to have made some compromises to make it easier since people will be crying how hard Sim mode is, it seems strange to actually make landing unrealistically more difficult. I was wondering if this was maybe put in to cover up damage modelling not being that accurate or something. |

Also if you try to land on water right when you touch it your plane immediatly sinks.

I've shot off the rudder on the bombers. They did say the damage model is different from Arcade to Sim. You shoot them down too fast in arcade mode to see much damage.

The other thing I didn't like was how the camera zoomed out when I bailed and when I crashed or crash landed. And I was wondering why we are offered a bailout option when we automatically(which I don't like) bail out moments after an accident. I'm hoping this is only because it's campaign and because the demo came with limited features. |
