2. Try a search, there's quite a lot of topics about it, I'm guessing you'll find a solution. 3. The IX. The XVI has a bit better guns, but a slightly slower rate of turn. It does roll better I believe. Just small differences though. |

Well thats not exactly true, I'm sure many people have. I just earlier today managed to do it on realistic; but with limited fuel only. Its not possible to do it with limited ammo.
Basically go towards the first group and when the second group arrive tell your wingmen to attack mission critical targets, and whatever they do not go for you do. Usually two will break off to attack one pair while the other goes alone. In regards to attacking, go straight for them at the same alt and fire, as soon as you go past go straight up and reduce throttle to 20%, wait for critical speed warning and then push the nose down, at this point you should be between 60-110 k/m above, gives you plenty of time to strafe both bombers before hitting their alt again. If you dont, sweep up again. When firing only let off 2/3 rounds at a time, the amount of kick-back from the planes guns shake it to much, only firing this many gives it time to return to its original firing position. This way if you aim at their engines it will take only 1/2 bursts to bring one down. Now, I'm having REAL trouble on 'The Babysitter' mission ![]() |

That mission is tough to figure out. I did the campaign on sim so I thought I would take it easy on the missions and do them in realistic. You need to go to them in a particular order and destroy them fast. You also need to command your other planes to attack as well (this helps A LOT!!). Also, I had WEP on like the entire mission... even while shooting the enemy.

I've done the mission several times over and over again in both Realistic and Simulator. Not once touching Arcade, (on this mission or any other for that matter.) Well to help you out Haitch. What I suggest, is going for the first group of enemies. Then check your map, and see what the next group is closest. Go for them, and while you take them out. The next group will still take its time. So by the time your done with the next group, just go for the next closest group. ![]() |

Free Hunt is probably the toughest mission in the whole game, even worse than Hornet's Nest, because your wingmen refuse to obey any command. What it takes is a combination of luck and weave attack. You've gotta down 12 transports. Start at a heading of about 190 to intercept the first pair most efficiently. But when you get there, look at the map and see what your wingmen are doing, cause the second pair will be appearing southeast of you on a heading of about 30. Whatever pair has two wingmen attacking it, go attack the other one. You've got the yak-9 in this mission, the yak-9 has the most powerful cannon of any yak. Don't waste time shooting the ju-52's from a distance - fly up close, staying under their wing plane so their gunner can't shoot you. Then set up a weave attack, up-down or side-to-side, make sure not to fall behind the target or you'll be shot to ribbons. Try to hit the engines, or the fuselage next to the wings. If you can light up one ju-52 from each pair, your wingmen are likely to be able to get the other one. Eventually, if you keep trying, your wingmen will come through and you'll be able to shoot down 4 or 5 before losing a plane, then another 3 or 4 before losing the 2nd plane, at that point you'll have a good chance. |
