Default Anyone Play with a CH Yoke?

I am interested in getting the new CH Eclipse Yoke. How is it for dogfighting? All the reviews I have read were for people playing FS.

The P38 flew with a yoke, and the bombers.

Fighters you'lll do better with stick.

I flew with a Saitek yoke for a couple of years until I got unhappy with the centre postion.

Bought a CH fighter stick in the end.

I'd recommend it if you're going for quality kit like CH, especialy if you're the type (like me) who tends to tighten grip when excited and tend to jerk the trigger.

Do you have Track IR? Yokes tend to be a bit short of buttons and hats in comparison with a stick and throttle set up, but Track IR frees up so many buttons it doesn't matter.

If you find a way of programming a repeating key press with the CH control manager let me know! That's one thing I miss from the Saitek software.

I flew on-line with a CH yoke for about two years. Most of that time I was also without Track IR. On Zekes vs. Wildcats I was known as one of the best Oscar pilots at that time. A stick and Track IR make things a lot easier, but you can get by fine with a yoke and a hatswitch.

I used CH Yoke for Bombers/ FSX-FS9 and CH Fighterstick for Fighters, if you plan on doing more Flightsim stuff than dogfighting get the Yoke if you plan on mostly fighters/dogfighting get the stick.

Just in case you overlooked it, you will need rudder pedals too (Also required with CH fighterstick) unless you want to use the keyboard buttons.

I use a CH yoke not the Eclipse, but the (physically identical?) USB 3-throttle one. It works alright. I had it before Il-2 and have only briefly used my housemate's X52 for comparison.
