Default Of Mice and Bailing out

If you are playing online and you get shot up, please please immediate run a quick thought trough your head-

"Is wrestling with this broken bird a worthwhile endeavour or just pure pride?"

If you can continue to fly and fight by all means recover and go about your dogfighting business but if you know you're just going to crash in 30 seconds from the damage (be honest now) then do the honourable thing and bail out.
You get back in the action faster and, just as importantly, the person who just hit you gets a kill for it.

no they dont, I bail out and it just says i crashed still, but dont get me wrong, they DESERVE to get something for it.

frankly if rather than being killed you can bail out like a real pilot did, then fair play, they at least deserve half a point for forcing you to do so.

Yes they do as long as you bail out quick enough, theres a window of time where they get the kill and it seems longer than the crashing one.

Ask anyone I was gaming with last night because I was bailing and getting thanks for it (particularly from SleepTrgt).

Just to get it right - if you bail within let's say 10 seconds after being shot at the opponent scores a kill, but if you try unsuccessfully to keep the plane airborne for a longer time he does not?

That sounds weird to me...

He appreciates it because he usually gets in the last shot when he slides in front of his teammates to steal the kill.

I THINK your enemy only gets the kill if he's still actually shooting at you when you bail out. I could be wrong though

Its just like the crash/kill system. If you crash within X seconds of being shot the last person to shoot you gets the kill. If not its a Crash.
But with bailing out X seems to be longer and I feel giving someone the credit for it is more sportsmanlike than a pointless struggle against gravity leaded to a "...has crashed" result.

Anyway I look forward to the fixing of the kill system in MP. I suppose it's part of the patch that was announced for some time in October.
