Default HOTAS and look around?

Hi every body...

I haven't tried the demo yet and I am asking to those who use the thrustmaster HOTAS... how exactly does the "look around view" works on it?

Thx

Fine. It uses the mini stick on the joystick

The AV8R has more free movement. Hotas has predetermined points.

This is a little disappointing.

It felt fine to me and did not seem to have predefined points, maybe it did but I did not notice as I only played for about 15 mins last night. FAR more importantly to me is the view that locks onto your target. By holding down the orange and black striped button you track your current target. To be honest I haven't even tried sim yet as I was trying to work my way up to it so it may not work in sim...

The button that does this in Realistic does not work on sim with the AV8R.

There's no tracking of targets in Sim as far as I know. The hatswitch is a bit restrictive (pressing back on it looks down at your control panels and not over your shoulder) but it isn't so bad as to cripple your situational awareness. I can still track targets with it fairly well. I haven't tried the second thrustmaster control set up, and I dunno if that changes anything or not.

I was thinking that the other setup was for the Thrustmaster with out the HOTAS

Probably so. I know that the HOTAS is configurable, so I'll try to fool around with it later and see if I can't change the look around settings.
