Default Running the 1.16.4 patch

I'm having trouble getting my Direct2Drive version of MOW to start after having installed the 1.16.4 multiplayer only patch that was released a few days ago. When I start outfront_mp.exe it appears in my process list and uses 50% CPU until I end it manually but the game window itself does not appear. I've tried reinstalling, applying the 1.11.3 patch, then the 1.16.4 patch (as per the instructions in the 1.16.4 release thread on the digitalmindsoft forum), and the same problem happens.

I have also tried disabling all startup items, non-microsoft services, and even reverting to an older nvidia driver (186.1, but none of it made any difference.

Release thread: http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/forums...php?f=9&t=4687

It may be that they released the multiplayer only patch without any regard for the different vendor versions of the game like they did for the last patch, so people with certain versions of the game cannot play multiplayer for a few weeks/month until their vendor gets their patch out but they said they wouldn't do that again so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I have the Direct2Drive version,& mine works so its not that ,but i found that i did have problems with the old Direct2Drive 1.11.3 patch after i installed the 1.16.4 patch,so i uninstalled game, apart from my profiles & save games, downloaded new international 1.11.3 patch aswell as new 1.16.4 patch then applied them, works fine now,so i advise you do the same.

After trying that I got the same problem.

You meant this version of the 1.11.3 patch right?: http://www.menofwargame.com/updates/...up1.11.3.1.exe , from http://www.menofwargame.com/updates.phtml

Did you install the game to "C:\Program Files\Aspyr\Men of War" or somewhere else? What language did you use?

I got it to work finally after trying Italian as the language instead of English.

Workaround for Direct2Drive English language users:

1. install MOW under italian (other languages may work also but I haven't tried)
2. install international version of patch 1.11.3 (not direct2drive version) and choose italian as the language
3. install 1.16.4 using italian as the language
= done

To change the language to english:

1. move the MOW dir somewhere else
2. install MOW in english
3. copy the localization.pak, and everything under the resource dir from english mow to italian mow
4. delete english mow then move italian mow back to where it was installed
= done
