One of The Best Things To Do When Playing an Offline Game
First turn off your modem, cable/dsl or whatever and shutdown your antivirus software.
Both can and will slow you down believe it or not |

Oh BTW make sure nothing is running in your taskbar or anywhere for that matter on your computer, only the game needs to run.
Yes that goes for you chat hounds that talk to friends online while playing games. Close the Chatty Kathy Down, like messenger and all that, they hog resourses slowing your comp. |

Tried 'GameBooster'? just recently come out of beta. Temporarily shuts down most background apps and services.
All helps. Last edited by pepperammi; 06-03-2009 at 12:40 PM. |

Because there are so many programs that run in the taskbar and the background that slow a PC's performance, it just anit funny when it comes to these new games that need the resources and space. |
