Default Online Event: Continuation War, Finland '41

Salute All

RAF 74 is pleased to announce the Continuation War, a two-week online event to be held Friday 23 & 30 January 2009. Designed by RAF74_Bimmer, this will be a AAA Unified Installer Mod-enabled event. We will utilize the latest available version of the UI; at this time that is version 1.0. In order to prevent cheating, CRT=2 will be enabled; a clean install of the UI with no other mods enabled is required. Voice communication will be via TeamSpeak, which is also required.

Sides will include up to twenty pilots each, flying for either the Soviet Union or Finland over Karelia in August 1941. All flying will be done on a single dogfight map, with pilots switching sides for the second meeting.

All are welcome to participate, both squadrons and individuals. Sign-up prior to the event is required. Sign-ups may be found at the RAF74 forums here:

My instinct's say there may be something wrong with advertising a modded event here...but that's just me

Salute

Based on Server testing, this promises to be a really fun event. The planesets are diverse and make for a really interesting set of possibilities. The fairly limited armament of most types involved and widely varied flight envelopes mean that dogfights will be won or lost by precision gunnery, knowledge of your own plane and the enemy's, and (if last night is any guide) the ability to recover from a stall or spin at low level.

The flyable planeset is:

RED:
I-153 (M-62, 2xBS, & 2xSHKAS + BS variants)
I-16 Type 18
MiG-3
SB-100A
DB-3b

BLUE:
B-239
MS406
Hawk 75 A-3
G.50
CR.42 (stand-in for Bristol Bulldog)
U2VS (stand-in for Fokker C.Ve)
Bristol Blenheim (MkI & MkIV variants)

Limitations on the numbers of each type active at any one time will be in place.

The requirement for a clean install of the UNIFIED INSTALLER verion 1.0 has been removed, any 4.09b modded version will be accepted.

(Of course, participants will be monitored, and the logs checked for indications of unauthorized mod usage)
