Default Can't buy scrolls

Whenever I try to buy a new scroll it won't let me and I get a small mouse-over message telling me my spellbook is full. I don't know what it means by that though, if I sell off some other scrolls it still gives me the same message. I can pick up scrolls from the ground or get them as quest rewards but I just can't buy any.

Any help please?

How many scrolls are you currently holding on to? On the left side of your opened spellbook it shows how many scrolls you have and can carry. You can't buy any if you equal or exceed your scroll capacity. Picking them up off the ground or as rewards can exceed your maximum.

Short answer: a lot. I sold almost all of them and I was then able to buy new ones.

Thanks.
