It`s in Arlania (the land to the east of Greenwort (the area you start in)). You pretty much just have to follow the main road, without turning left or right unless the road itself does. There will be a guard in front of a door. Talk to him, and he will let you in.

And months later:

I wanted to add this as I had the same problem. It was my habit not to run all the way down that road as the Hero Tiberius was blocking from my initial questing in the area and not to be confronted. So I never got down that road to see the entrance to the mines. Had to come here to find a clue.

Now I'm level 11 and Tiberius is safely put to rest, giving me free reign of running up and down that road now. In fact I could have carefully dodged Tiberius from Level 1

Hopefully this will help a new player to NOT make the same mistake. I wasted a couple of hours looking around the Freedom Islands again (that's where the Dwarves are right?) before resorting to the forum here.

Find some way to dodge the Impossible stacks and explore everywhere.

Why are you rushing there? If you are so low level it's because you have many stuff to do in Darion and Pirate Islands that are much more easy. Do them first.

In impossible? The max level possible! More seriously I don't know how much low this can be done. With a mage I finished Creiston mines at level 15 with almost 7k Leadership. I was level 14 at beginning of those mines.

It was 13H25 at day 4 at end of Creiston mines. Not very good because after coming back from pirates islands I had some stuff to do before starting the mines.

I had kill most stuff but I skip a bit too many stuff and had good xp percentage bonus but not the max xp bonus. You certainly could start Creiston mines at level 15.
