Default Clean Install... What Next

Hi

I've not played COD for over a year or more, but now with the cold dark nights I think I'll reinstall and upgrade. Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction for the upgrade steps and file locations that I need to carry out.

Cheers

Mauld

So first to do is:

a: make at least two copy of your programsx86/steam/steamapps/common/il2cliffsofdover folder anywhere on your hard drive (just cut and paste x 2 - leave your original folder untouched forever to use if you need).

THIS IS IMPORTANT STEP OR YOU CANT APPLY OTHER MODS

b: to one of the copies apply the Team Fuson mod (version 3 if you like single player more, version 4 if you like online player) You can get mod here:

It gives better fps, better effects, more aircraft type, some more ship type, and winter and autumn landscape.

To this Teamfusion version you should also apply the REDUX campaign mods for best single player campaigns. Fantastic campaigns for RAF and Luftwaffe with medals and career score and random events. You can get here:

(Remember, if you most like single player, use the version 3.01 of team fusion mod, but if you like mostly online, go for the next 4.0 version. This is a temporary thing while they fix some problem in version 4.0 for single player.)

WHEN you are finished exploring in these, there is plenty more. I recommend:

c: to the other copy of the game directory apply the Malta mod to give you whole new theatre and aircraft skins and missions. This I am having fantastic fun with because I love the mediterranean. You can get malta mod here:

Also I like the campaigns by Bolox from Luftwaffe pov

And when you have got bored with those, you can buy some Desastersoft missions which give many new features and great missions. These I also like for because they give amazing ground reality at the airfields.

That is plenty for first hours, yes? You join at a great time now for CoD!

Thanks Planespotter for that detailed reply. I'll give this a try once Christmas is over.

Cheers
