Default Blenheim flaps.

Quote:
Flaps in the real Mk.IV were adjustable. In the sim we only have fully retracted or fully extended flaps (much like the Spitfire), but it should probably work more like the Hurricane, with up, neutral and down positions so that you can set it to neutral mid-way through the extension sequence and get partial flap extension. Yes! Blenheim with adjustable flaps, on axis.

In Controls > Aircraft > assign one axis to control Flaps.

-Dont have a spare axis? Use your joystick throttle axis + a modifier button.* Like.

The trick is play with Deadzones.

In game use this axis to get a partial flap extension aternating up/down commads.

Check in the indicator in left side of cockpit the desired angle. The Fleas Checklist indicate 20º to take off.

Gentleman, use this trick in Spit or Hurri is cheat.

* If you dont know, one joystick axis can control many things in CloD, associated with modifiers buttons.

It is a cheat in the Spit, but the Hurri was designed to take off with 28° of flaps, so not a cheat.

Phoenix1963

Thanks for this info about Hurri.

The "funny" thing is: I just discovered that pressing V and F I control the Flap extension in the same way.

Anyway in Spit the trick dont work.

LOL!

The Spitfire had pneumatically actuated flaps that were either up or down. There was a single switch that controlled the direction of air pressure on the flap extension system, and it would either lower or raise the flaps depending on the position.

Careful juggling of the flap switch would theoretically allow you to keep the flap in certain position.

The Hurricane had hydraulic flaps with an actuator valve inside the cockpit directly controlled by the pilot. By setting the valve to "down" position the flaps would move down, setting it on middle position would stop flap movement, and "up" position would raise the flap. The same hydraulic valve controller was used for the extension and retraction of the landing gear. To select which function you wanted to control you would move the lever left or right through the middle position.

So, in Hurricane you couldn't lower or raise gear and flaps at the same time!

That image shows 3 settings. Can you explain exactly what they each are?

1) Joystick
+
2) Key 7 joystick
+
3) Y axis

What are the inputs you are using for each of the above.

Means that I use "Joystick Axis Y" (joystick elevator) momentary modified with "Joystick Button 7" to control "Wheel Brakes".

So, with button 7 pressed the movement in Y axis dont afect elevator, but brake.
When button 7 is released Y axis control elevator again.

This allow set "Parking Brakes" - good for warm-up - in Blenheim (and other planes) - to release, just hit B (key).
