Default Can we fix the map?

As someone that lives in Kent I am constantly irritated by the errors on the map such as Chatham Naval Dockyard being completely missing while the minor Rochester commercial dock is there or no Detling Aerodrome.
Can the map be replaced? Has anyone done it?

I'd love to be able to edit the labels.. they drive me nuts..sizing wise they are so big all over lapping each other. Love to tweak that.

Hi Roblex, welcome back.

I think Luthier said in answer to many questions a few weeks back that the Channel Map would be editable once the map tools were released.

They leave this off the map

But decide to model the tiny commercial dock at Rochester!

The Shorts Seaplane factory in Rochester would be a nice target though

It is easy to add buildings and ships to the map, and you can even add your own airfields with runways, but there is currently no way to add/change bodies of water, which is annoyng, since there are huge rectangular shaped water textures in some parts of France in which the water is bending with the shape of the surface. Also there is a huge patch of "gray" water near the Cherbourg.

One problem in adding the ships is, they always are set relative to the sea level. It means you can't put them to riversides if the river is too high from the sea level, such as near the city of Rouen at Seine.

The Shorts factory and Rochester Airfield factories hangars etc etc
along with:
Greenwich war memorial (famously strafed by a Bf109E)
Greenwich Royal Observatory,
Greenwich Royal Naval College,
Greenwich Palace,
St Paul's Cathedral,

and all other London landmarks that are missing.

The compromise is to open the FMB and make your own scenery with the objects available on the Channel Map.
