Default Battle Area - what does it do?

I see that it allows the AI Ground Controller to give out information on the grid coordinates of enemy flights but does it do anything else? And is there any performance hit in setting the BA over the whole map?

Cheers for any help,

WB.

Aside from putting a grid on the map, I iniatially thought it might define the rendered area and decide where to render buidlings are trees etc. However I have found no evidence of this and several patches later which may or may not have altered this I still see no evidence.

Be sure to set the last value to 10000 instead of 1000, those tiny squares are annoying.

I thought so. Thanks for the answer.

For the RAF though I suppose those squares should be set to 16093m!

I heard they use nautical miles so it would be 1852metres

Yea, thats about all I think too
the main purpose being the reports that say 3 aircraft in area so and so heading etc., or in mission brief, attack refinery in sector etc.

In the past I made mine close to ATAG so it would burn in my memory
