Default CloD sound issues

I am sure there are people "suffering" from the same sound issues as I do... I just want to make sure that these things are beeing worked on!?

Even though many sounds in CloD are brilliant, I have lots of issues... no engine sounds when starting engine, missing airplane sounds when they fly over your head (when you are the ground) missing "hits" sounds etc etc... for me it looks like there are a lot of sounds "missing"?

Could someone who have some deeper knowledge about this tell me what's "going on"?

thank u

My rig:
Intel 2600K, 8GB Ram, Nvidia 580 GTX, running on WIN 7.. no additional sound card

Would be nice to hear that they are working on it! I love the sounds in general!
Have the same issues, sometimes I dont hear the engine sounds of other planes online (sometimes with some planes... good to hear on a server with outside views like Repka 4... i cant make a general statement... sometimes the Spitfire engine sound is missing from another planer, sometimes the Hurricane engine)

Missing hit sounds is also an important factor (flak as well as enemy gun fire)

Apart from that pls add some environmental sounds (birds tweeting, working sounds on Airfield etc etc) to make this sim alive

I made a bugtracker entry some time ago, pls vote up if you experience similar issues: http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/417

S!

I wonder why they did not allow user to choose sound settings like in old IL-2. And there it worked. Sound issues are very annoying as some indications are based on hearing them. Looks like there is still a lot to do before sequel is ready to be released. Another bug fest is out of question this time concerning how important Russians consider the "great patriotic war"...

Don't worry, they'll just release it as retail and then after say "ooops! didn't we put that on the box? it's only in beta stage but we'll finish it soon enough, be sure....be very very sure...." or "we are happy with sounds even though you fans who actually play the games aren't, no further changes will be made". Sorry couldn't help it! Seriously though I'm rather confident they'll straighten most of the kinks out before it will be released and it won't be released until sometime 2013 was it? I mean, just look how far we've come in this year and half with CloD, almost done!

Indeed so. Sound is incredibly important for a sim, not only for immersion but also as information giver.
Oleg had the standard answer for IL2, "IL2's sound engine is top of the art, best in business, but you need a stand alone soundcard". This does not fly with me these days, when integrated soundcards SHOULD suffice quite well.

I really hope they give the sound another glance... as it is now, sitting on the runway with hood open, and can't even hear my engine (or any others for that matter) starting up.. (try the Blenheim) is a big immersion killer.

+1 Agree sounds not working is an "immersion killer"

Sound that does not work for me:
When playing allied cannot hear sounds of own side AA guns within cockpit or with canopy open when flying Hurricane. I can hear AA okay when in external view.
