Smile Performance improvement

Hi all,
i did a quick test of 5 minutes testing the FPS performance, i have no time to do more because i must to go right now.
What's the first imppresion? For me the fps are equal to the lastest beta patch.
But i have a new install of the whole pc, and maybe before i had another config, better than the actual .
On the sea 40\60 fps, in a cloud 15\20 fps, low level without big cities 25\30 fps.

I52500k 4.2, gtx 580 3 gb, 8 gb ram, ssd, 2560x1600 res.

Do you notice any improvement?

Sorry for my english .

I know we all want to run out and tell the world..

But I would highly recommend everyone play the game for at least an hour before drawing any conclusions.. good or bad!

Still at work so haven't played it yet, but reading what BlackSix wrote and some of naryv's posts on sukhoi.ru it seems to me that you will only see an FPS boost if you set the Effects slider to Medium. Is that right?

My understanding was that, in layman's terms, they re-wrote the effects engine and put it under the Medium option.

.
After 10 minutes of testing of the Spitfire MKIa oct over London at low altitude the patch is nice not perfect perfection is for next one but this one is near it! I tested with two settings one full very high and once medium with grass and shadows. On my PC very High give a better result than Medium minimum fps 6 for very high and 3 for medium?! Two important remarks I did put clouds at medium in each mission and the second one is that the crashes that here so multiple in the previous patch are all gone wath a relief.
Nice work, now the hard work begings to see the interaction with the rest of the planes of the games in one word; combat!
The tree glitch is also gone I personaly am so happy.
It seems that there is a little shadows problem but I am not cetain of this? To look at!
Thanks for this great work to the team of 1C dev.

yes that should be right... at least the minimum fps increased with the new medium effects setting, pretty nice.

Ive run the Black Death track and got min 16 fps (the moment when the bomb explodes infront of the starting hurricane) instead of min 2-4 fps

So this is an awesome improvement and I barely see a visual difference!

I am more interested in that un-doc feature BS mentioned that was causing so many problems..

For once in my life I am glad I did NOT go poking around in the ini files tweaking things!

Having installed the patch after clearing the Cache I am pleased to say so-far I have not had a single Launcher Crash (I only play offline at the moment).

I tried the recommended setting of 'Medium' but although it may run smoother I found the aircraft looked flat and boring and seeing as this is where I will be spending most of my time I tried a few tweaks to the Graphics.

After much fiddling I think I have at-least found my 'sweet spot' which gives me playable frame-rates (only dropping when there is a big explosion) and I have to say it really is nice to start to be able to see the game running consistently.

I will be honest though I really, really hate the building 'pop-up' a legacy from the old IL2 (which I though was improved in a previous patch?), so I have dropped the buildings down to low.

All-in-all though I feel these are certainly big steps in the right direction and I hope to see more improvements (not only because I will be getting a 670 next-week!) as future patches are made.

Worth the wait IMHO. I have seen one graphic bug so-far (texture seem/join on top of nose of Spitfire is see-through), but nothing that makes me think the game is not moving in the right direction.

Anyway I am attaching my settings and I am really pleased with thing so-far.

Cheers, MP

IIRC it was mission builders using dynamic weather.

Thanx for posting your settings MP
I wish more folks would do the same.
Especially those folks who are glitch free.
Thanx All
