Default Smoking planes?

Just flew a few offline missions and just noticed that i didn't see one smoking plane the whole time, so then i ran the bomber intercept low level mission 5 times on auto pilot just to watch, and again not one smoking plane the whole time.
Now i saw a few wings come off with a bit of smoke but not one smoking plane.

Has this patch reduced the chance of this happening or it just a fluke morning of missions?

Anyone else noticed this?

Biggles and I bit into the BR20s on ATAG 1 last night, and Biggles had one spewing thick black smoke all the way down to the deck, so the effect is still there.

I've not seen it for ages though, so it may need a particular combination of hits to trigger or summat.

It is definately there though.

I would love to see a lot more smoke, providing it doesnt tear the fps to shreds!

I nailed a Wellington last night on the ATAG servers and there was fire, sparks and black smoke.

Also I was attacked by a Spitfire on my 6 and two 109's were trying to shoot him down. He was leaking oil and part of his elevator caught fire for a little while and then went out. He was stubborn because he was bound and determined to shoot me down and didn't seem to care about the two 109's on his tail shooting him to pieces or didn't see them.

Also I notice that when a spitfire is hit in the radiator and spews out steam or water the effect is some what strange on my computer, it slows down the fps and the spitfire looks like it is towing a big white sheet.

I can also confirm seeing smoke and effects. I'm using the medium detail setting by the way.
