How do you get out of a spin in a 109? I constantly find myself entering a spin like a noob when I pull a turn too hard, and at low altitudes that means certain death.
I always put the stick directly in the opposite direction of the spin, included the rudder. Is this the correct way? How should one manage the throttle in a spin? Post your tips! ![]() |

Stick - full forward
Rudder - Full opposite rudder throtle - idle If things get nasty Flaps - down Gear - down Radiators - open anything that makes you go slower - make it happen. tough the first 3 steps are enough for any plane in the game ATM.. the full lsit only comes in handy for the p39 |

The abrupt turn stalled a wing sent you into a spin. Stick must be neutral to recover, using opposite rudder only.

+1 hands off the stick, throttle completely back, and full opposite rudder.

In some aircraft it helps to give aileron in the direction of the spin. I don't know if this happens with any of our aircraft in the sim.
Others had even more peculiarities, for example the F4U Corsair was rumored to be impossible to get out of a spin without adding some throttle. |

you crazy??? NEVER use surfaces to get out of a spin, it will only make it worse; that was true in 1946 and still is in CLoD. this is how you do it: throttle to null and counter the direction of the spin with full rudder; maintain it for at least 4s, if nothing happens in the way of stabilizing the trajectory, ease and reapply, that's all you can do till the (bitter or not) end; if you're already facing down vertical, you may find useful to apply a tiny amount of throttle; then when you've recovered, bring back the throttle gently. also in severe spins you can try give small burst of throttle if the torque counters the spin direction, but this is kind of desperate measure.
and if you enter a flat spin, most of the time the best you can do is open the canopy.. |

I tend to push the stick to get the nose pointing down, then neutral elevators and ailerons while using full opposite rudder.
It's probably gaming the game..but when hitting the ground seems unavoidable, dropping the flaps and gear down certainly helps to stabilize much quicker. Just remember to raise them again ASAP once out of the spin so you can build up speed and pull out. |
