Default Catalyst 12.6 Beta drivers out

S!

As the title says, AMD released their latest betas 12.6 for both XP and Vista/Win7. Great drivers so far, go grab from Guru3D or Rage3D Tested on CoD quickly, of course Black Death with 1920x1080, All maxed out except AA = Off, SSAO = Off, Epilepsy = Off and Building Detail = Medium. Results below

Min: 6fps
Max: 68fps
Avg: 58fps

Results look same as in my "Just testing" thread, but looks like certain scenes were a bit faster (Blenheim in foreground, bomb explsions on runway etc.) than on 12.4's. Placebo or not but seems these are keepers.

Yes because they are dropping the monthly WHQL driver release to improve driver work and instead release hotfixes etc. Just like NV does.

Ah ha, just read the site page, makes sense. Hopefully it will cure my BSODs I've been having.

I have not had AMD related BSODs at all but my TM Warthog caused 2 x BSODs within 10min = sent the unit for repairs/change. Waiting for new one to come..

Well all good in the BSOD front, but I'm now getting techni-colour rainbows on textures. Do you know how I can fix that?

On another note: I "upgraded" from 2 x 5870 in Crossfire to this the Gigabyte 7970 OC edition, the difference is like chalk and cheese.

I finally have smooth frame rates.

109 here I come

What do you mean by rainbow textures? In CoD or other games too? Epilepsy filter is the only one I know of that can cause that in CoD. I have no problems whatsoever with these betas and 12.6 CAP1 I post my CCC settings below if that is of any help.

Antialiasing set to Application Controlled, mode Standard and Morphological is Off.

Anisotropic filtering at Application controlled.

Tessellation AMD Optimized.

Catalyst AI set to Performance and Surface Opt Off.

Vertical refresh on Off, Unless application specifies.

Antialiasing mode set on Performance.

Triple Buffer Off.
