Think it would be nice to get in time the Airfield Fort Watch Offices manned with some 3D-groundpersonnel, (a few high brass, some beautiful WAAFs too, depicted as saluting, waving at their heroes, the brave fighters, bolstering up their morale.

Don't forget shooting the flair into the air to signal take-off or what ever it was for. And if you buzz the tower you see the brass spill their coffee / Tea and wave their fist.
