Default AMD Catalyst 12.4 WHQL

S!

Go grab from AMD while hot out of the owen Installed and work fine, even the TrackIR software bug was fixed. Also some new features included. No glitches in CoD as far I could tell.

Thanks for the heads up. Could you make out any differences in image quality?

S!

The beta 12.4 caused TrackIR software version 5.1.3 not starting, just gave an error. This was related to some OpenGL things in the driver. With 12.3 no problems nor with 12.4 WHQL. The image quality seem OK, maybe less shimmer

Perhaps he had the same problem with the 5.xxx software in windows 7. It crashed often and in the near past, they wrote about the problem occuring even more often. Answer of the devs was, that this could have something to do with the new ati drivers as well and that they try to fux it for next release.

Now it seems, that ati fixed it by themselves somehow.

If you have big problems with this software, you should disable the hook in the catalyst concerning Triple Buffering (opengl) as this fixed my problem.

I couldn't start any trackir software with this enabled. I will try now, if it is gone. The strange thing about it: my friends have nearly the same setup and do not have this problem. It is strange and the trackir support is working on a new built to fix it. They could give you a modified dll file, which fixes the problem as well.

Ah ok, thanks, that explains why I didn't have the bug. Thank you for the heads up, will give it a try.

Hello,

I finally bought the game 2 days ago. I come from Lock-On, DCS & Rise Of Flight.
At first the fps was pretty bad (from 5 to 30/40), despite having followed the settings in the sticky performance thread.
Then I thought about downloading the latest catalysts (I was in 12.1).

Surprise!
It is now at 25 lowest to sometimes 80 above water (average around 30-40 i' d say). Anyone experienced the same?
The lowest it goes in the "black death" track is 21, when the first Hurricane is blown up.
For the new AA it is called Morphological antialiasing, and it works in Clod.
Use the catalyst control center to check this option. It doesn' t seem to alter FPS.

Here is my rig:
P7P55D-E Deluxe
I7 860 @ 3860 MHz
8 Gb DDR3 @ 1750MHz
ATI Radeon HD 5870
Seven Ultimate x64
Samsung 2770 27"
Hotas Warthog
Pro Flight Rudder
Track IR 5

CloD Settings:
1920x1080 @ 60Hz
fullscreen
Model Detail: High
Building Detail: Low
Land Detail: High
Forest: Medium
Visual Effects: High
Texture Quality: High
Antialiasing: None ingame, and MLAA checked in Catalyst
Anti epilesy thing off
SSAO off
VSYNC off
Damage decals: high
Building amount: unlimited
Land shading: high
Grass on
Shadows on
Roads on
