dear community...
i know i came up with the same kind of post already, but now some people confirmed what i already wrote... it doesnt seem like a hardware issue, but some kind of glitch, which makes the flight models feel easier. if one deletes the conf.user file in the 1c documents folder, me and other people of my squad feel a big difference in how the planes suddenly fly. especially stall characteristics seem to be way more controlable and shooting is easier as well. i noticed that in a strange way, this effect disappears after a couple of restarts though, so one has to delete the file every time before one launches the game. its just a tip for those who may struggle with flying the plane on the edge... ps: before you delete the file, safe your controls first to a file, because this will be gone happy flying |

The only reason for it I could see is a file with different joystick axis settings stored in a Steam cloud. When you delete the file it is replaced with a file from Steam folder first but then in some time it syncs with the Steam cloud. Try deleting the file in the Steam folder too and check files integrity to get one from Steam. Check if reducing joystick sensitivity in control panel has the same effect. E.g. some fly with .50 sensitivity in Y axis to improve shooting.
Do you have any proof that stall speed is changing, any tests done? Last edited by Ataros; 04-11-2012 at 07:06 AM. |

Tried with few other people and they confirmed different behaviour. It is not any sort of placebo effect, the difference is quite obvious.

there is still the same effect, when the files get rebuilt the first time. the same effect appears, if you delete the conf.ini file completely, or put joystick values in it, like in 1946. this effect also appears after a complete new install of the game, but mind, only after the first launch.then it disappears in a strange way again. it was said, that it is just the default axis settings, but i have tried those as well, and its certainly not that. if i remember right, the default settings are 100% sensitivity, and 20% deadzone....this effect im describing is completely different in behaviour. we have no answer why this effect appears, and more importantly disappears again, without changing anything, but we can feel it. |

Yes, can confirm that after deleting the CONF.INI under documents and reinstalling the game I noticed different AI behaviour. So this means after every patch this file needs to be replaced as well.
