Default Metallic skin

Does someone know how to do this sort of skin with gimp ? Or does someone has already seen a tutorial (i accept even in english ). i have search on internet but didn't found something very accurate yet. I thought it would be wonderful to fly with such a plane.

That is not a texture, but is hardcoded as a hardware shader effect in the game engine, but is not being used in the actual released game. May be in futures updates / expansions.

Well, what do you see?

I see alot of grey, in varying dark and light shades. And there's your answer.

what you have to see is that it's a mettalic skin for il2. If it works for il2 sturmovik it should for cliffs

the skin you want to do would be bad to see. it is a static one, in the meaning that the reflection are fake, while in the enviroment like the water, the reflection are dinamically rendered by the graphic engine.
In Il2 it is functioning because all the textures are less precise and less realistic.

But if you really want to try..

I know what you're trying to make.. I've seen them before (back in old IL2), and they look good..

I've been wanting to make a nice polished aluminum bf109 skin myself
