Default Newb ready to dip toes in water?

~S~ and hello all:

1. I'm thinking of buying CoD and re-invigorating my interest in combat flight simming (I flew for many years in IL-2 with "Aces High") and am wondering if my computer specs will allow me to actually fly CoD:

OS: Win7/64 Home Premium
CPU: i7 975 Extreme (water-cooled) OC to 3.83 GHz
RAM: 12GB PC3-10600 133 MHz
GPU: Single nVidia GTX 580
HD: WD Veliciraptor 300 GB 10K rpm SATA

2. Does CoD have a FMB like IL-2?

Many thanks in advance for any answers and/or advice on settings.

Moggy

The COD FMB is similar to the Il2-1946 FMB.

1) should be adequate

2) yes- it's very similar in appearance to IL2 but does have several things that are different.

is a good start.

Settings:- perception of what is 'playable' is a rather subjective thing, but high would be a place to start graphics wise.

Other than that be prepared to do some reading, partic on CEM- you WILL blow up 'several' engines at first.
I'd suggest sticking to one plane for a bit(109 or rotol hurri?) till you get the hang of it

With such a good config, your HD is the only limitation I can see due to its size.

1TB shld be more adequate for a modest price increase.

Note : you can order your HD offshore with no setback.
